Editorial Guidelines

How We Work

SheikMovie exists to help people find films and shows worth their time, and to talk about them honestly. These guidelines explain how content gets made, checked, and corrected, so you know what to expect when you read something here.

Research First

Before anything gets written, it gets watched, re-watched, or at minimum thoroughly researched using reliable primary sources like official releases, credited interviews, and verifiable production details. We avoid repeating rumours or unverified claims as if they were fact, even when they’re widely shared elsewhere online.

Writing With a Point of View

Daniel Harrow and the contributors who write for this site are encouraged to have opinions. A review that says nothing risks saying everything badly. That said, opinion is always clearly separated from fact: plot summaries, release details, and cast information are reported plainly, while judgments about quality are framed as exactly that, judgments.

Corrections

Mistakes happen, especially with fast-moving release schedules and shifting streaming availability. When we find an error, or when a reader points one out, we correct it as soon as possible. For anything beyond a minor typo fix, we note that the piece has been updated so readers aren’t left wondering why details changed.

Independence

We don’t accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage, and any article involving free access to a screening, screener, or review copy is noted plainly where relevant. Our recommendations are based on what we think is actually worth watching, not on who sent us a link.

Keeping It Honest

Ultimately, the goal is simple: write things we’d want to read ourselves, admit when we’re wrong, and treat readers as people whose time and trust matter. If something on the site ever falls short of that, we want to know about it.
